The Annual Coachford Five Mile Road Race takes place on Friday August 14th
at 7.00pm. The race is one of the key events of the Coachford Festival
weekend and is now a very popular race on the Cork calendar. The run is
approved by Athletics Ireland, is professionally measured, superbly
stewarded and offers runners a unique challenge of completing a 5 mile
course.
Registration for the run takes place from 5.30pm at the GAA Pavilion in
Coachford and entry is only €10 with all the proceeds going to Suicide
Aware. Gourmet soup company, Cully & Sully are helping out with the
refreshments and gorgeous soup will form part of the refreshment
package offered after the race.
Changing facilities and warm up and down areas are available at the GAA
Pavilion.
Coachford is less than 15 miles west of Cork City centre and is about
half way between the towns of Macroom and Ballincollig on the northern
road.
The route is mostly flat with Some hills but most of them are in the
first 1.3 miles"
Prizes
There are cash prizes ( €100, €50 & €30) for the first three female
and male runners home as well as trophies for top team and juvenile
winners. The race is sponsored by CM Fitness Nutrition and Sports
Rehab.
