Travel Directions

From North

Travel out from City via South Link, and turn left into Tramore Valley Park (A)

From East

Travel west from Jack Lynch Tunnel. Approaching Kinsale Road Flyover, take slip road for Roundabout. Travel around the roundabout, under the flyover and take the FIRST (B), immediate, slip road, onto Kinsale Road. Travel for approx. 1km and turn right for Park and Ride. Then travel directly across South Link, into Tramore Valley Park


From South
 

Travel around the roundabout, under the flyover and take the FIRST (B), immediate, slip road, onto Kinsale Road. Travel for approx. 1km and turn right for Park and Ride. Then travel directly across South Link, into Tramore Valley Park

South Link

If, coming from South, East or West, you travel, in error, towards the City on the South Link, you will NOT be able to turn right, into Tramore Valley Park. Instead continue on towards the City and take the first slip road towards South Douglas Road (C), turn right, over the bridge and then immediate right, onto the slip road to the South Link (Southbound), and continue as per 'From North' directions, as above

Information Sheet

Boys races: Teams of 8 with 4 to score. Girls' races: Teams of 6 with 3 to score

Schools may enter more than one team in a race.


Athletes must compete in their own age group. However, a team may be completed by the inclusion of one athlete from the age group immediately below

Perpetual team cups/trophies to be returned to registration on the day
 Competitors' numbers available from 11am


Entries

The closing date for entries is Tuesday Feb 7th. Entry forms have been sent to school contacts

N.B. N.B. All schools must be affiliated to Irish Schools Athletic Association

***Late entrants without bib numbers will not appear in the results***


Limited toilet facilities and dressing facilities will be available at the venue. Teachers should remind their athletes of this before departure from school on the day


Medals will be presented to the first Six individuals after they cross the finish line.


Team results should be available very soon after each race and medals can be collected at registration.

There will be no formal medal presentation ceremony for team winners.

The girls' races will have three athletes to score (a maximum of six to get medals) and the boys' races four athletes to score (a maximum of eight to get medals)

 

Munster Qualifiers

Qualifiers for Munster Championships:
First 4 teams in each grade, and any athlete who finishes in the first 15 in each race


Munster Championships will take place on February TBC, at Carriganore, Waterford

All Ireland Schools Finals also take place at Carriganore, Waterford on March 11th

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
