Lots of Irish in action abroad over the past week - Here are some of the highlights involving Cork athletes
Louise Shanahan, Leevale AC and Ireland
Womens 800m - DNA Indoor, Glasgow
Louise Shanahan, represented Ireland in the Women's 800m, at the six nation DNA Indoor, in Glasgow, on Saturday. Louise settled quickly into second place in a tactical race, behind Spaniard Romero, hitting the front entering the back straight on the final lap. Scotland's Selman came around Romero on the outside, chasing after Shanahan, who seemed to be holding her off, only for the Scot to find that little "extra" in the last 10m, to take maximum 12 points for Scotland with 2:04.73, while Louise (2:04.82) added 10 points to Ireland's tally, which led to ireland's third placing from the six nations involved: Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Spain and Portugal

Evan Byrne, Butler University and Togher AC, ran an 8:05.95pb for fourth place at the Meyo Invitational, in South Bend, Indiana

Youghal's Under 20 Women Savouring the ECCC experience on the eve of their race
Youghal AC Under 20 Women Place 8th in European Champion Clubs Cup Oeiras, Lisbon, Portugal, Sunday February 6th 2022 Emma Landers,15th (15:52), followed by Avril Millerick 24th( 16:08), Avril Cashman 27th (16:15) and Alex Cashman, 36th place (16:51) placed 8th in the elite field

Michelle Finn, Leevale AC, crosses the finish line for a fabulous fifth place
Michelle Finn took some notable scalps today, coming 5th in 22:51, behind winner, Likina Amebaw (22:13), Sinead O'Connor (37th - 24:32) and Niamh Moore (57th - 26:26) completed the Leevale AC line-up
