Motions for AGM January 15th 2023

1 That, the Athlete who qualifies in 4th place to compete in A Track & Field National championships should not be disqualified from competing in B Championships if they do not win a medal at the A level - Cork & National - Liscarroll AC

2 That: any athlete who is upgraded to compete in National championships when/if one of the original qualifiers to the A championships opts out, should not be disqualified from competing in B championships, if they do not win a medal at A level. - Cork & National - Liscarroll AC

3 That: When teams are qualified by numbers/placings currently 1-10 County, 1-6 in Regional Cross Country for National that all members of a team finishing in 1st, 2nd or 3rd team placings at National level would receive a medal. - Cork & National

Note: each team member competing has an entry fee paid for their entry, as an individual, and a member of a county or regional team and would be no cost to the Board

4 That Cork County Board re-instate the John Buckley League in the format that it was run prior to 2018 - Cork - Liscarroll AC

5 That Juvenile committee be allowed to introduce mixed relay teams from age under 16,17,18,19 at County level - Cork - Liscarroll AC

6 That seniors have mixed relay teams at levels agreed by competition Committee - Cork & National Liscarroll AC

7 That Masters have mixed relay teams at age levels agreed by competition committee - Cork & National - Liscarroll AC

8 That any group committee, sub-committee or special committee should not be allowed to introduce
Rules/regulations concerning Track & Field and Cross-country and road competitions except on health and safety grounds until/unless it has been approved by a General meeting of the Association Cork, Munster & National  Liscarroll AC

 

9 That: All the divisions in Cork Athletics be established, re-established and align all registered athletic clubs to a division within the county. - Cork - Blarney Inniscarrs AC

10 That all juvenile athletes be allowed to compete in 3 events only in the county track & field championships. Entry to the combined events not included in this motion - Cork - Grange/Fermoy

11 That entry be allowed to mixed relay teams at u/14 and u/16 level at the County & Munster cross country relay championships  - Cork & Munster - Grange/Fermoy

12 That Cork Athletics would have a provisional timetable for adult cross-country events - Cork - St. Finbarr’s

13 That Cork County Board would not issue permits for adult events or schedule events for dates on which county or provisional track or xc championships events are being held, to promote better participation in championship events by clubs

 

About Us

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
