June end-of-month registrations for Cork Athletics stand at a record 7,726

The figures still include several 'anomalies'; As can be seen, the record 7,726 is slightly higher than the 7,713 reported by Eventmaster. There are exact duplicate registrations in Cork, where exactly the same individuals are included twice, and several other duplicate individuals. Along with this, there is one registration that does not expire at the end of the year

Another set of anomalies relate to New Memberships, of which almost 1,910 are now listed. Many long term AAI members are listed as 'New Members', some of which have as much as 30 or 40 years unbroken AAI/BLE membership

As can be seen above, Registrations have risen almost 61% since 2014, having recovered following the 'hit' taken during Covid 19, and a 'stable' 3 year period before that, from 2017-2019, where numbers hovered around the 7,200 - 7,300 mark. The current figure of 7,713 is 5.8% up on the pre-Covid 2019 figure of 7,287

Registration of Potential New Members

Clubs are reminded that new members may 'try out' the club for a few weeks, after which they MUST be registered, or they will NOT be covered by Athletics Ireland insurance

Any athlete, coach, official, or any member acting in any capacity, who remains unregistered is NOT covered by Athletics Irelands insurance, for ANY purpose whatsoever, including training and/or competition

Leevale AC (543) again lead the table, just one registration ahead of Bandon AC (542), as each of these clubs swap the top place again, having done so all year to date. Youghal AC are third on 361, followed by Midleton AC (353), North Cork AC (350), Togher AC (335) and Grange-Fermoy AC (317). A further seven clubs; Carraig-Na-Bhfear AC, St. Catherine's AC, Belgooly AC, Carrigaline AC, Cork City AC, Tracton AC and St Finbarrs AC, all exceed 200 registrations, while another 14 clubs top the 100 members mark. The number of clubs exceeding 100 registered members has risen to 28 (50%)
