Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media - Community Sport Facilities Funding Allocations
CSFF - All Grants
In a tremendous boost for Athletics in Cork, today's announcement of almost €1M in grants for Cork Athletics developments is most welcome. Bandon AC is to receive €404,820, with Carrigaline Rugby and Athletics Partnership to get €492,555
The Bandon Facility is at quite an advanced stage of development, so today's allocation will, hopefully, be a huge leap forward in the development timeline. Once open, the Bandon facility will be a massive boost for the club, already one of the most progressive and active clubs in the county, if not the country, and also athletics in West Cork. It will also open up opportunities for more Track & Field competition in Cork, including, for example, the possibility of Graded League events being hosted at the venue
Separately St. Catherine's AC are to receive €43,481 for a 4 lane Sprint track, along with High Jump and Long Jump facilities, while Carraig na bhFear AC are to benefit from €28,365. Durrus AC are to benefit from a modest, but welcome, grant of €1,500
